With a deep understanding of the importance of teambuilding, he became the first Chairman of the FIFA Ethics Committee, a role which allowed him to implement the FIFA rules and ensure the sport remained respectful. Admired for his driven mindset, he was also elected as a Member of the International Olympic Committee to implement an experienced sportsman into the team.
