June Sarpong OBE is best well-known for her role as a former panellist on ITV’s Loose Women and has spent over 25 years as a broadcaster and Corporate Executive, developing numerous skills such as cultural awareness, business strategy, leadership and current affairs. Since entering the limelight, she has become a passionate advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) issues within the workplace and is the co-founder of the ‘Women: Inspiration Enterprise Network’ (WIE). Currently June is the Non-executive Board Member of the British Fashion Council. Having began her career at Kiss 100, June then became the MTV UK and Ireland presenter before quickly progressing to T4. She was the presenter of the teen-aimed strand of Channel 4 for nine years and had the opportunity to interview some of the biggest names in the business including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Her infectious personality loved by everyone on and off screen, June made numerous appearances TV shows such as BBC’s ‘Question Time’, ‘Have I got News For You’, ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ and Channel 4’s ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’. Naturally comfortable in front of a crowd, June also presented the MOBO Awards for three years in a row and has presented with comedians such as Jimmy Carr on ‘Your Face or Mine’, and Ricky Gervais for a series special on BBC’s ‘Extras’. Throughout her carer June also developed a passion for politics and is a regular panellist on ‘The Pledge’ – Sky News’ current affairs discussion show.
Away from presenting, June has worked hard with businesses and schools to ensure she helps to dismantle oppression and a lack of inclusion. She is devoted to spreading her message of unity far and wide and has worked alongside Founders and CEOs on DEI, delivery of culture transformation, strategy and ways to connect to a wider audience. A small selection of her clients include Nike, the NHS, Burberry, Google, Unilever and McDonald’s. She is also the Founder of Diversity International and has made history as the first ever Global Director of Creative Diversity for the BBC, and the first black woman to be in the organisations Executive Committee.
In recognition of her services to broadcasting and charity June was awarded an MBE in 2007 and an OBE in 2020 for her services to broadcasting, she is also the author of four highly influential books.
