After leaving the military, Dom continued to lead in high-risk situations, working as a Security Risk Manager across Sub-Saharan Africa and advising governments and organisations on crisis response. His leadership was most visible during real-world emergencies, including his actions during the Westgate Shopping Mall terrorist attack in Kenya, where he repeatedly entered the building under fire to help evacuate civilians, saving dozens of lives. He also played a critical role in the Dusit Hotel complex attack, helping coordinate and support the safe extraction of those trapped by armed extremists.
Dom’s extraordinary leadership has been recognised through some of the United Kingdom’s highest honours. He is the recipient of the George Cross, awarded for acts of the greatest heroism, and the Queen’s Gallantry Medal for his military service, making him the only individual to receive both awards. He has also received the Queen’s Commendation for Valuable Service, further highlighting his sustained contribution to leadership in extreme environments.
