Jenna Meek is an author, former Olympian and senior diplomatic adviser who now speaks internationally on inspirational leadership. Best known as the author of ‘The Long Win: The Search for a Better Way to Succeed’, listed in the Financial Times Top 10 Business Books of 2020, Jenna combines elite sport, global diplomacy and organisational insight to challenge leaders to rethink what success truly means. Organisations hire her because she translates high-performance experience into practical lessons on resilience, purpose and sustainable achievement, showing leaders how to build cultures that value long-term impact over short-term wins.
Jenna’s early career was shaped by both academic excellence and relentless commitment to rowing. Representing Team GB at three Olympic Games, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004, she won silver in the Coxless Pair in Athens and at the 1998 World Championships, alongside a gold at the 2003 World Rowing Championships and the 1999 World Indoor Rowing title. Alongside sport, she joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Fast Stream in 2001, later serving in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Basra and London, including as Head of the Political Section at the British Consulate in Basra and Deputy Director of the Stabilisation Unit. These formative experiences, navigating both elite sport and conflict-zone diplomacy, underpin her talks on inspirational leadership, giving her a rare ability to speak about resilience, teamwork and ethical decision-making under pressure.
Her influence has been recognised through major speaking engagements and thought leadership. Jenna delivered the 2018 TEDx talk “From the Olympics to Basra, Lessons in Building Resilience”, sharing insights from sport and diplomacy with a global audience. In 2024, she was interviewed by The British Psychological Society on “A shift in wanting to do sport differently”, highlighting her role in reshaping conversations about performance and wellbeing.
Jenna Meek is a competitor, a diplomat and a reformer who believes leadership is about character, courage and connection. She is hired as an inspirational leadership speaker because she blends authenticity with evidence, sharing hard-won lessons from podiums, policy rooms and real-world crises. Audiences leave her talks with renewed purpose, practical strategies and a powerful reminder that the greatest wins are those that last.
