Brett Schklar is an internationally recognised AI adoption futurist, CEO of AI-First Leadership, and author of ‘AI Without the BS’. With a career spanning more than two decades at the intersection of technology, leadership, and marketing, Brett is a leading authority on how artificial intelligence is reshaping business strategy and human potential. Brett’s career began in marketing and product management with global technology leaders. At AT&T, he rose from Regional Internet Sales Manager to Product Marketing Manager, earning the Vice President’s Award for Excellence for outstanding leadership. He then joined IBM Internet Security Systems, where as Director of Offer Management he achieved 300% growth in less than a year and was recognised by Gartner and Forrester for market leadership. At Q1 Labs, later acquired by IBM Security, Brett served as Vice President of Product and Marketing, helping secure $18 million in financing and positioning the company as an industry leader.
His success continued at Vericept Corporation, where as Vice President of Marketing he delivered a 420% return on investment and $43 million in new pipeline revenue within his first year. In 2006, Brett founded Market Creation Group, an award-winning marketing consultancy that grew to serve 230 clients and deliver 23 successful client exits before its acquisition in 2018. During this time, he was recognised as one of Denver Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 and led the firm to two consecutive rankings among the Fastest Growing Private Companies. He also served as Vice Chairman of SoftwareColorado and as an Adjunct Professor of MBA Marketing at the University of Denver.
Today, as the driving force behind AI-First Leadership, Brett equips organisations to adopt artificial intelligence strategically and ethically through his “CEO 2.0” and “Leadership 2.0” approaches. “Loved the 12 principles for AI leadership as a ‘game plan’ or blueprint. Really liked how he broke the content down into 12 actionable steps that can be easily taken and implemented. Was very applicable to where LTI is currently at with AI and I found this to be very informative and useful. The speaker noted that this was his first delivery of this presentation, which was helpful to know, and I think that with repetition, it could be more polished. I found the focus on credentials to be of much less benefit than the real-world examples as those helped provide a greater understanding of how to get started with AI. This is a great presentation on how a business can leverage AI to improve itself.”
