Tim Campbell

Tim Campbell MBE is an entrepreneur, business leader and diversity advocate, best known as the winner of the first series of BBC’s The Apprentice and, more recently, as an Aide to Lord Alan Sugar on the programme. A Strategic Diversity & Inclusion Advisor for AMS and Co-Founder of the Bright Ideas Trust, Tim has dedicated much of his career to enterprise, education and creating opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs. Combining corporate leadership with social impact, he is hired as an inspirational leadership speaker to share practical lessons on entrepreneurship, inclusive leadership, personal development and turning ambitious ideas into action.

Tim began his career as a Project Manager for Transport for London before rising to national prominence when he won the inaugural series of The Apprentice in 2005. His victory led to the opportunity to work alongside Lord Alan Sugar at Amstrad, where he became Integra Project Director and gained first-hand experience of leadership within a major business. Building on this experience, Tim founded the Bright Ideas Trust, a social investment organisation created to support young people aged 16 to 30 in developing and launching their own businesses. He led the organisation for more than a decade, establishing a career that combined commercial success with his commitment to widening access to entrepreneurship.

Tim has since held leadership and advisory positions across business, education and public life. He served as Mayor’s Ambassador for Training and Enterprise for the Greater London Authority and held roles as Governor and Board Chair of St Bonaventure’s School. His corporate career has included becoming Head of Global Citizenship for AMS, Trading Futures Lead and Regional Head of Africa for OSTC Ltd and Strategic Diversity & Inclusion Advisor for AMS. In 2022, Tim returned to The Apprentice as an Aide to Lord Alan Sugar. Awarded an MBE for services to enterprise culture, he received an Honorary Degree from Middlesex University in 2024 and was interviewed at the Oxford Union about his career, education and experiences working with Lord Sugar.
