Andrew Pike CBE

Andrew Pike CBE is a communications strategist, diplomat and national security expert who has spent more than two decades advising governments and global institutions at the highest level. As Founder of Andrew Pike Advisory Ltd and former Director of National Security Communications in the Prime Minister’s Office, Andrew is widely respected for his expertise in strategic communications, reputation management and international diplomacy. Awarded a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to the sector, he is hired as a speaker for his unique insight into leadership, crisis communications and influence on the global stage.

Andrew began his career in senior media roles, including a senior management position in press, publicity and public relations at the BBC. He later moved into government and diplomacy through the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, developing expertise in international relations and political communications. During this period he served as Her Majesty’s Consul at the British Consulate General in New York, where he led diplomatic engagement around the Northern Ireland Peace Process in North America and worked closely with key stakeholders across the US government, including the State Department and policy leaders in Washington.

His career continued to progress through a series of senior leadership roles across government. Andrew served as Head of External Relations and Soft Power at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, overseeing strategic assets including funding relationships with the British Council and BBC World Service. He later became Head of the GREAT Britain Campaign before being appointed the first Director of Communications and Engagement at GCHQ. Andrew went on to serve as Director of National Security Communications in the Prime Minister’s Office and later as Director of Communications for the Northern Ireland Office. His work across government, diplomacy and national security was recognised in 2020 when he was awarded a CBE.
